Working part-time means that my weekends are much longer than most other people who get paid to work five days per week. It also gives me a lot of time to think about things whilst sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee and watching daytime TV. The things I think about are really only of interest to me, probably, but I think about them anyway.
My football team, Leeds United, provides both joy and grief in equal measure. A few years ago, I noticed that it was hard to assess how well Leeds United was doing just by looking at the league table so I created a different way to look at league tables.
I have been a licenced radio amateaur since 1981. G6ETX, in case you were interested. Although I don't tranmit much these days, I do like to listen in to things. Right now, I track aircraft that fly over my house using ADSB and feed this data to FlightRadar24. I also track weather ballons. I feed this information to Radio sonde info and Sondehub. If any land near me, I will try to find where they land and recover them. I detail my exploits in the radio sonde section of this website.
If it is not the weekend, I am being paid to work and that means working for Sitemorse. Sitemorse tests the quality of websites over a number of categories. Many of the pages in this site contain deliberate errors so they can be used to illustrate and test the features of Sitemorse. That is my excuse for this poor quality site, and I am sticking to it.
If it is the weekend, I sometimes volunteer at Chawton House to welcome visitors to the House or do a tour.
